Two women were killed in a single car crash on Raccoon Valley Road, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report.

Erin Turnipseed, 29, of Powell, and Sarah Latham, 22, of Powell were killed with a 1997 green Subaru Impreza driven by 31-year-old Corrin Reynolds of Knoxville was traveling eastbound on Raccoon Valley Road, when control was lost and the vehicle struck a clavier.

Turnipseed and Latham were killed instantly, while Reynolds and the other passenger, identified as 29-year-old Shawn Page of Knoxville, were transported by LIFESTAR to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation showed that no one was wearing a seatbelt, and it appears as speed and alcohol were factors.
