Two arrested for robbing multiple businesses in Knoxville

The FBI’s Knoxville Division, the Knoxville Police Department, and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) announced the arrest of two individuals suspected of robbing multiple businesses in the Knoxville area Nov. 17. 

At approximately 9:30 p.m. last night, James Robert Mullens Jr., 42, and John Paul Jones, 32, were arrested without incident at the InTown Suites at 409 South Gallaher View Road. Both are facing Federal Hobbs Act charges.

Mullens and Jones, who were listed as homeless, are being held in the Knox County Detention Facility. Mullens is being held in lieu of $465,000 bond on six counts of aggravated robbery, while Jones is being held  in lieu of $100,000 bond on a state charge of aggravated robbery.
