A crash at the intersection of Middlebrook Pike and Sutherland Avenue Jan. 2 claimed the life of the driver.
According to Lt. David Powell of the Knoxville Police Department’s West District D Squad, the crash was reported at 7:30 p.m.
The driver, identified as 20-year-old Deshaun Okeefe, apparently was traveling east along Middlebrook Pike when the car, identified as a Ford Crown Victoria, struck a traffic signal pole head-on in the median.
Okeefe was the only occupant of the vehicle, according to Powell.
