Sevierville Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a two-vehicle crash Jan. 8 at the intersection of Highway 66 (Winfield Dunn Parkway) and Highway 448 (North Parkway).
According to SPD Crash Investigator Preston Parrish, the accident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. A 2003 Hyundai passenger vehicle was traveling north on Highway 66 and was attempting to turn left into the entrance to Murphy Oil (across from Highway 448), and a 2007 Ford F250 truck was traveling south on Highway 66 when the two vehicles collided.
The driver of the Hyundai was identified as 37-year old Jennifer Mayton of Sevierville, who was not injured. The two passengers in her vehicle, identified as 18-year old Austin Kinder and 7-year old Koa Mayton, were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center via the Sevier County Ambulance Service (SCAS). Austin Kinder suffered non-life threatening head injuries, while Koa Mayton was seriously injured.
The driver of the Ford F250, 56-year old Kevin Morley of Virginia, was transported to LeConte Medical Center by the SCAS with non-life threatening injuries.
No charges or citations have been issued at this time. The accident is under investigation.
