Two people were taken to the hospital after a knife incident that took place Jan. 11 at an apartment complex in northeast Knoxville.
According to a Knoxville Police Department report, officers responded to the incident at the Isabella Towers Apartments at 1515 Isabella Circle at approximately 11:02 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located both an unidentified man and woman involved in the incident, which appeared to be domestic.
Both parties had been in Apartment 239 drinking when an argument developed, officers said. The argument apparently turned violent when the woman picked up a small knife and inflicted a very small cut to the man’s stomach area.
Officers received conflicting statements from each as to how the man came to be injured. The female had no signs of injury.
Knoxville Rural Metro responded for evaluation of both parties. The woman requested to be transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The man refused medical attention and remained at the residence.
The names of the individuals are not being released as the investigation continues.
