Barley’s Taproom and Pizzeria at 200 East Jackson Avenue will be the location on January 20th at 7pm for Snow Day. Snow Day is CAC Beardsley Community Farm’s largest fundraiser of the year. Admission: $7 | Soup Tickets: $3

According to an announcement from Beardsley Farms, the Snow Day will feature live music, a “soup-off” between local restaurants, a homegrown and homemade beard pageant and silent auction.

Featured musicians: The Hotshot Freight Train, The Lonetones, The Theorizt, Yunglife, TimLee3, Kelsey’s Woods, and Kukuly and the Gypsy Fuego

The feature food for the event will be soup with bread. A special meal of soup featuring some of Knoxville’s finest restaurants including the reigning champion Coolato Gelato, Bistro at the Bijou, Just Ripe, Plaid Apron, Harry’s Deli, and others.

The Beards’ Pageant includes modeling from both men and women who are welcome to strut their finest beards (homegrown or handmade) before a panel of beard and hair connoisseurs.

Rounding off the fun is a silent auction featuring items to be sold including a cabin rental in the Smokies, CSA shares to local farms, a flat of strawberries, a YMCA household membership, bike tune-ups, massages, chocolates, and gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses.

Last year 900 people attended Snow Day, helping to raise 20% of Beardsley Farms operating budget for the year. Organizers are hoping for a bigger year this year.

Sponsors for Snow Day include: 91.9 WUOT, 90.3 WUTK, 89.9 WDVX, Metro Pulse, and Three Rivers Market.
